46. FAKIR THE JOINING LINK
The incident related with Shrimati
Sudha Mazu mdar of Calcutta has been described In detail by Shri
N. Kasthuri in Sathyam, Sivam, Sundaram - Part 11. Bhagavan Sri
Sathya Sai Baba gave her darsan at Darjeeling as Shirdi Sai, whom
she took to be a Fakir. ln this apparently chanced meeting the
stranger even sat and chatted with her and gave her Upadesh.
The chain of circumstances that
followed this contact led the lady to the presence of Sathya Sai
at Madras where she was blessed with an interview. Though steeped
in piety and spirituality yet the doubting human nature took the
upper hand and she asked Baba about the Fakir she had met at
Darjeeling. Baba reassuringly confirmed "That was I in another
Form. I gave you there Upadesh. Don't worry I will be with you
always! Always!"
Later in June 196 7 Shrimati
Mazumdar visited Shirdi. She went in the Samadhi Mandir for Darsan
and stood silent, stunned and surprised, on seeing the marble
image of Shirdi Baba The idol was none other than the 'Fakir' who
had bestowed upon her, His blessings at Darjeeling.
This Divine communication places a
confirmatory seal on the phenomenon of the Oneness of the two
Sais.
