Sri Sathya Sai Baba Avatar

Shirdi Sai and Sathya Sai are One and the Same
By Arjan D. Bharwani

41. PARTHI PRASADAM FOR SHIRDI ARPANAM (OFFERING)

One Bhateja family came to learn of Bhagavan at Bangalore. Their destination was Bombayand included enroute a pilgrimage to Shirdi.Having heard of Sathya Sai, they changed their itinerary and first went to Prasanthi Nilayam. Darshans in abundance were bestowed upon them along with the others. However, despite a deep yearning - they were not fortunate to get an interview. In a novel manner of seeking Baba's consent to depart, they called out to the Parthi Lord, as He moved in the Mandir. In response, Baba sent for Shri N. Kasturi, gave him some 'vibhuti'packets and said, "Go and give these to the mother and daughter fromBombay, waiting below". Baba further added, "They have brought a piece of cloth for Me. Tell them they can take it back and use it, stitched as items of dress, as My Prasad". Kasturiji carried out Baba's behest. Bhatejas were wonderstruck, for the piece of cloth that they were carrying, locked up in their suitcase, was intended for 'Arpanam' as a 'chaddar' on the samadhi of Sainath. No one except the family had any about this offering, nor had they spoken to any one about it Though they remained stunned with the impact of the 'Sarvantaryami' attribute of Baba, yet they realised that the purpose for which they wanted to go to Shirdi, had been fulfilled and the offering for Shirdi had been accepted and reciprocated as the 'blessed prasadam'.
